The Story Behind KinesiologyRX
& The Drew Stretch Method™

At KinesiologyRX, we believe movement is medicine — and that every body has the potential to heal, recover, and perform at its highest level through proper movement science and hands-on care.
Founded by Andrew Reyes, Olympian, former professional runner, NCAA Champion, and Kinesiologist, KinesiologyRX was created to bridge the gap between traditional rehabilitation, athletic performance, and real-world recovery.
Our mission is to help people of all ages restore function, eliminate pain, and move with confidence — without relying on invasive treatments or quick fixes.

Our Journey

What started as a small passion project in athletic performance training has grown into a multi-location integrative movement and recovery practice serving clients in Richland, WA and Scottsdale, AZ.
Andrew began his professional journey in 2012 under the brand FAST (Functional Athletic Strength Training), working with athletes to improve biomechanics, speed, and endurance. Over the years, he noticed a pattern — many clients were training hard but not recovering properly.
This realization led to the creation of KinesiologyRX and eventually The Drew Stretch Method™ — a structured, evidence-based system combining kinesiology, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular re-education to restore the body’s natural movement and balance.
Today, KinesiologyRX serves everyone from athletes and weekend warriors to post-surgical patients and individuals with chronic pain — using the same science, precision, and care that once guided Andrew’s own path as an Olympian.

Over the past decade, he has worked with clients ranging from youth athletes to elderly adults, combining biomechanical assessment, functional exercise, and hands-on stretch therapy to improve flexibility, joint mobility, and muscle function.
His professional background includes experience with:
-
Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) as a Para-Educator specializing in behavior management and adaptive physical education
-
KinesiologyRX – private movement and recovery practice

My Story: From Olympic Athlete to Kinesiologist
How Stretch Therapy Changed My Career — and My Life
As an elite and Olympic-level athlete, I lived through the grind — the early mornings, the pain, the pressure, and the endless pursuit of perfection.
Every practice, every race, every lift came with a price: tight muscles, fatigue, and the constant risk of injury.
Like most athletes, I thought pushing harder was the only way to win.
But the truth? Recovery is where real performance begins.

The Turning Point

During my professional running career, I learned that no amount of talent could outperform poor recovery. I faced tightness in my hips, hamstrings, and back that threatened my ability to compete at the highest level. Traditional methods helped temporarily — ice, massage, stretching on my own — but nothing addressed the deeper issue: how my body was actually moving.
That’s when I started studying kinesiology and movement science. I began applying stretch therapy, muscle activation, and neuromuscular techniques to my own body — experimenting with angles, holds, and breathing patterns that restored control and alignment.
The results were undeniable.
My recovery times shortened. My stride opened up. My body felt lighter, stronger, and more efficient.
For the first time in my career, I wasn’t fighting against my body — I was moving with it.
From Recovery to Prevention
What I discovered wasn’t just about flexibility — it was about function.
Stretch therapy didn’t just make me feel better; it prevented injuries before they started.
By combining science-based stretching with muscle activation and stability work, I began to notice patterns:
-
Tight hip flexors leading to hamstring pulls
-
Limited ankle mobility affecting knee pain
-
Poor posture creating shoulder and back tension
When these issues were corrected through structured stretch therapy, my performance improved — and my injury rate dropped to nearly zero.
That’s when I knew this wasn’t just recovery… it was prevention through movement.

Sharing the Method

After retiring from competition, I turned my athletic experience and kinesiology education into a mission — to help others move, recover, and perform better than ever before.
That mission became KinesiologyRX and The Drew Stretch Method™ — a system built on the same principles that kept me healthy throughout my Olympic journey.
Today, I teach athletes, clients, and practitioners how to:
-
Reconnect with their bodies
-
Prevent injuries through mobility and muscle balance
-
Build recovery systems that support long-term performance
Whether you’re an elite athlete, weekend warrior, or someone just looking to move without pain — this approach works. Because it’s not just about stretching muscles… it’s about retraining movement and building resilience from the inside out.

My Purpose Today
What started as a way to survive in the world of elite sports has evolved into a lifelong calling.
I’ve seen firsthand how the right stretch therapy can restore hope, confidence, and freedom of movement — not just for athletes, but for anyone ready to take control of their body and their health.
That’s what drives me every day.
Not just to stretch — but to teach, empower, and help others live without limits.

Olympian | Kinesiologist | Founder of The Drew Stretch Method™
